The 2025 Shanghai International Reinsurance Conference (IRC), featuring the theme "Walking in Tandem, Talking to the Globe", kicked off in the city's Lin-gang Special Area on Oct 21 and runs through Oct 24, attracting over 400 institutions from 28 countries and regions.

As a key carrier for building Shanghai into an international reinsurance hub, the conference has been held in Lin-gang since 2023, integrating trading, forums, and consulting.

The Lin-gang Reinsurance Functional Area has made significant progress, evolving from physical clustering to functional expansion and capacity enhancement. A certificate ceremony of outstanding contributions was held, with honors including Best Reinsurer, Best Overseas Business Inward Reinsurer, Best Ceding Company, Best Claims Settlement Institution, Best Cross-border Cedent, and Best Regional Contributor granted to reinsurance operation centers residing in Lin-gang.

The Shanghai International Reinsurance Exchange in Lin-gang has been connected with three global risk management tools from People's Insurance Company of China, China Pacific Insurance Company, and Ping An Insurance, respectively. This enables the industry-wide sharing of technology, data, and expertise to enhance global risk management capabilities.

Meanwhile, China Reinsurance Group launched its innovative Climate Vision platform, enabling insurance and reinsurance institutions to assess and manage potential catastrophe risks more scientifically.

The unveiling of these two major technical achievements represents a milestone for Lin-gang in advancing risk management innovation and strengthening reinsurance supply capacity in critical areas.
